Segway your way
Traveling through the centre of the magnificent Burren Mountains and its rugged rocky limestone landscape, world famous for unique flora and fauna, you will take your Segway on an amazing journey through this beautiful landscape, stopping for photos at the ancient Megalithic burial tomb Poulnabrone Dolmen, dating back to 2500BC and Cathair Chonaill Ring fort, inhabited from 400-1200A.D, before gliding on to our next destination, The Alwee Caves.
The Alwee Caves is a stunning underworld experience and one of Europe’s most compelling cave attractions. You will experience a fantastic Birds of Prey demonstration and stop for lunch at the Alwee Caves before being being brought on a guided tour of Europe's most facinating limestone cave network.
It is a truly awesome experience and an opportunity to see one of the largest free hanging stalactite in the world. From the moment you descend over 80 ft into the first cave chamber with your guide, you will enter a world carved by water.
You will follow the rough hewn route of the early explorers who first discovered the cave and see he remanants of pre-historic cave dwelling bears. When you enter the stunning, cathedral-like chamber that is home to the huge stalactite, you will be briefly plunged into a world of primitive darkness. Then, in a flash, you will be in awe as the subtly lit stalactite appears before you and far below, a magical stream carries it’s lime-saturated watery cargo to the hills outside that sculpts and carves the primeval world around you.
