Segway your way
Traveling through the centre of the magnificent Burren Mountains and its rugged rocky limestone landscape, world famous for unique flora and fauna, you will take a Segway Fun-Glide through this beautiful landscape, stopping for photos at the ancient Megalithic burial tomb Poulnabrone Dolmen, dating back to 2500BC and Cathair Chonaill Ring fort, inhabited from 400-1200A.D, before continuing on to our next destination, The Alwee Caves. The Alwee Caves is a stunning underworld experience and one of Europe’s most compelling cave attractions. It is a truly awesome experience and an opportunity to see one of the largest free hanging stalactite in the world.
From the moment you descend over 80 ft into the first cave chamber with your guide, you will enter a world carved by water. Donning your hard hat, you will follow the rough hewn route of the early explorers who first discovered the cave. When you enter the stunning, cathedral-like chamber that is home to the huge stalactite, you will be briefly plunged into a world of primitive darkness. Then, in a flash, you will be in awe as the subtly lit stalactite appears before you and far below, a magical stream carries it’s lime-saturated watery cargo to the hills outside that sculpts an carves the primeval world around you. Next stop on your adventure we travel along the spectacular western Atlantic coast line to the breath-taking Cliffs of Moher, Irelands most visited natural attraction with a magical vista that captures the hearts of up to one million people every year.
The Cliffs have been nominated as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. They rise to over 600 feet at the highest point and range for 5 miles along the rugged Atlantic coastline. Walking along the cliff-top footpaths you can gaze out over Galway Bay and across to the Twelve Pins of the Maum Turk Mountains in Connemara and in the foreground a short distance off shore The Aran Islands and our next spectacular destination - Inis Oirr.
